The Whole Armour

I have come to realise, some people cannot control their mouths, what can we do? Are we supposed to live in a state of constant conflict and offence. Are we supposed to avoid certain people completely? That can’t be the right approach because what if one day you get offended in a relationship that you cannot severe. What will you do?

I’ve developed a strategy for dealing with this kind of situation I call it ‘dealing with the devil.’

The first thing I’ve come to realise is that oftentimes the person we are in conflict with is not the real enemy at all:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

The reality is, some people cannot control their mouths, some people speak words of death, some people cannot rest without knowing information that doesn’t concern them. #busybodies

So we’re not wrestling against flesh and blood, we’re wrestling against principalities and powers. We have to come to a place where we accept the fact that, we cannot change people, we ourselves are not perfect so how can we attempt to change another human being. God is perfect and only God can change a person.

How do I deal with a person that constantly speaks negative words?

A work colleague asked me the other day how she should deal with a person that constantly speaks negative words. I wrote about this is my blog post ‘My Words are Spirit and they are Life’ back in January – be careful what you set before your ears. Don’t just sit down listening to nonsense.

#whentheycantcontroltheirmouth

The same way God uses people to speak His Words of Life, the devil can use people to speak words of death. The person that cannot control their mouth may not even realise that they are speaking words of death, or maybe they do, maybe they just can’t control their mouth. What can we do?

One day they will have to give an account, we will all have to give an account:

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it on the day of judgement.” (Matthew 12:36)

If they can’t control their mouth #thatstheirbusiness #keepyourheartright #judgementdayiscoming

Sometimes I just have to let certain words fall to the ground… One day we will all have to give an account. #judgementday

I always pray and ask God to help me discern His voice in the midst of every situation. We have to come to a place where we are able to recognise the voice of God and shut down anything that is contrary. JESUS calls Himself the Good Shepherd and he said his sheep will hear His voice…”They will hear my voice and there will be one flock and one shepherd (John 10:16).

Let me break down the solution to the fight against “spiritual wickedness in high places”, it is nicely laid out in Ephesians 6:14 -18. We must put on the ‘Full Armour of God.’

There are many components to this armour but the bible says ABOVE ALL, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16).

***Take up the SHIELD OF FAITH – people that don’t have faith respond to every word that is spoken, they respond to every change in circumstance, one minute they’re saying one thing next minute they’re saying another. They judge every situation by the way that things look , that’s not faith. Faith is when you hold on to what God says no matter what the situation looks like, no matter what people around you are saying, no matter what the devil is saying through people that cannot control their mouths! – If you take up the shield of faith you can quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked one.

What does the devil want?

The devil wants your testimony, he want’s your Godly relationships to be broken and he wants your destiny to be destroyed – (to steal, and to kill, and to destroy – (John 10:10). But the devil isn’t even that smart, his strategy has already been exposed.

Next time you find yourself in a state of constant conflict with someone or some people that are speaking negative words or devising foolish schemes, step back and remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

Pray and keep the shield of FAITH in tact!!!   #dealingwiththedevil #thewholearmour

  1. Excellent, timely and so true. Not everything we hear is going to be beneficially, helpful or encouraging. We have the ability to allow words to effect us. We can reject or accept negative words. The power lies within us. Chose to accept positive words and reject negative words
