So let me ask you a rhetorical question; has Jesus ever let you down? #rhetorical question. This message is about the paranoid wife, this is the woman that does not trust her husband – she is constantly on the look out and wondering whether or not he is going to let her down. The reason why she is so paranoid may be unclear – perhaps he has let her down before and now she just expects it? Or perhaps it is an internal issue; insecurity; abandonment or low self-esteem. These are some of the issues that we tackled at the Ladies in Waiting Conference a couple weeks ago!
The word “paranoid” is an adjective which means to be extremely nervous or worried. Sometimes people become paranoid because of past experiences, sometimes its just an internal struggle. However it came about; this is one of the things that can prevent a woman from walking into her purpose. God has a purpose that he wants us to live out. He has dreams and plans and places that he wants us to go. But God says we should “be anxious for nothing” (Philippians 4:6).
Back to my question: Has Jesus ever let you down? #rhetorical question
Jesus said that the church is His “bride.” Furthermore, in Isaiah 54:5 the bible says: “for your maker is your Husband; the Lord of hosts is His name and your redeemer is the Holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth.” Sometimes we can look at our lives and compare it to other’s or we can have doubts based on our own preconceptions of where we think that we should be as opposed to where God wants us to be at any given time. This type of worrying can lead to paranoia. #yourmakerisyourhusband
We need to trust Jesus – there’s no reason to be paranoid because Jesus has never let anyone down; He can’t, it’s impossible.
Jesus has a testimony: “I’ve never let anyone down.”
When Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane and on His way to the cross, He said, “If it is possible let this cup pass from me, nevertheless not my will but Your will be done.” Even at his most painful state Jesus still said “nevertheless,” because it’s part of His testimony He will never let anyone down.
“For your maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name and Your redeemer is the Holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth.”
We have to trust Jesus!!
